Sales Account Executive

(Remote, Full-time)

Coursemojo
, a leading ed-tech company, which has developed a best-in-class, curriculum-aligned, AI-powered assistant teacher. “Mojo” is designed to bridge the gap that exists between the high-quality instructional materials that districts have adopted and the diversity of student needs that exist in classrooms, especially with the learning gaps from the pandemic. With the goal of supporting both teachers and diverse learners, “Mojo” helps educators differentiate instruction by providing each student (MLL, students with IEPs, advanced students, struggling readers) with targeted, Socratic, one-on-one and small group support (in 50+ languages) in the context of either core class instruction or intervention support. Coursemojo is looking for a Sales Account Executive to help develop and expand its sales and partnerships capacity. This person will report to the co-CEO, Dacia Toll, who has more than 25 years of leadership experience in the ed sector.

Why is this role important?

We plan to launch ~15 paid, modestly-sized district pilots (~500 students each) at the beginning of the ‘24-25 school year and will then look to build upon early successes and learnings to seed new sales for the spring semester and beyond. This role will be critical to extending our sales capacity beyond our co-CEO, and helping us hone our pitch and sales strategy to potential district clients. This role will also add critical capacity to partnerships with philanthropic and other sector-leading organizations, contributing valuable non-sales revenue to this early stage company.

In the early days, this role will also take on a variety of special projects as needed (notably customer success support for early school-based pilots) which will provide an excellent opportunity to build deep product knowledge. Over time, the role will become a more independent and traditional sales account executive, pursuing leads and closing partnerships, owning the full sales cycle.

The ideal candidate has both a proven ability to sell and previous experience in education (e.g., teaching, school leadership, or edtech product implementation) that they can leverage to partner meaningfully with prospective clients and close sales that will result in strong partnerships.

  • Support the development of partnerships with other sector-leading organizations
  • Assist with the tracking and follow-through on grant deliverables (updates, reports, etc.)

Special Projects (20% to start; to decrease)
