Minimum Position Qualifications

Ph.D. psychology with a license to practice in the state of Tennessee or be eligible for licensure as a Psychologist HSP in the state of Tennessee.

Special Conditions

prefer leadership experience in a University counseling center. Experience in working with APA accredited counseling centers.

Work Schedule

Monday – Friday

8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

May need to work/travel beyond normal work schedule

Job Duties

Duties & Responsibilities

Provides leadership and management functions for the Counseling Center Clinic service delivery. Provide consultation and supervision to Counseling center staff. Oversees collection and analysis of data related to clients and clinical service. Maintain a referral data base for Counseling Center. Coordinates with the Dean of Students office regarding mental health issues.

Consults with students, faculty, staff, legal guardians, organizations, media, other professional and health services providers regarding client treatment.

Participates in weekly unit meetings, attends center staff meetings and discusses case assignment, unit business, and monthly reports.

Manages triage schedule for staff and Counseling center on call schedule.

Makes presentations and conducts workshops for the University and local community. Attends staff meeting, service training activities, committees and case conference.

Performs duties of Director of Student Health and Counseling Services in absence of Director including travel and purchase authorizations, budget revisions, and time and attendance approvals. Performs data collection and analysis for the center, enters center goals and highlights for Annual reports, and assists in completing yearly IACS Report.

Duties & Responsibilities

Provides individual, couples, group, and family therapy services to students at the University. Provide supervision to staff psychologists, post docs, doctoral interns, and/or practicum students. Trains pre-doctoral interns and practicum students in diagnosis, assessment, treatment, ethics, career issues, and other professional issues. Co-lead psychotherapy groups. Some psychological assessments as requested.
