GRE+D Support Officer, Research Portfolio, Academic Division Job in Brisbane QLD at Queensland University of Technology –

The GRE+D Support Officer is responsible for

the administrative support of the teaching and

professional development activities offered by

the Graduate Research Education and

Development (GRE+D) team to QUT Higher

Degree Research (HDR) students, their

supervisors and early career researchers.

The role supports the development of an

innovative research training environment and a

culture that is aligned to QUT’s Blueprint and

strategic goals across transdisciplinary,

entrepreneurial and end-user engagement

touchpoints for HDR students through the

curation of learning opportunities within the

Graduate Research Education and

Development (GRE+D) framework.

This position reports to the Director, Graduate

Research Education and Development for

supervision, workload management and for

Performance Planning and Review (PPR).

Key responsibilities include:

  • Administer processes related to workshops,

events, newsletters, student management

and event registrations.

  • Work closely with the GRE+D team to

provide administrative support for the

development and provision of learning

offerings and experiences.

  • Under direction, develop presentations,

marketing or general documents.

  • Assist in the recording and management of

student and supervisor data.

  • Under direction, manage event bookings,

develop digital communications, use digital

resources and maintain internal and

external calendars.

  • Arrange and process travel and conference

bookings and itineraries.

  • Undertake word-processing, prepare

spread sheets, slides and multimedia

presentations, draft reports and

correspondence/emails on behalf of the

GRE+D team.

  • Collate agenda papers for relevant

committee meetings and take minutes.

  • Compliance with health and safety policies,

procedures, hazard reporting and safe work

practices.

To ensure job flexibility the successful

appointee may be required to:

  • perform any other duties as nominated by

the University consistent with the relevant

classification descriptors detailed in the

Enterprise Agreement. Staff undertaking

any new duties will receive training;

  • participate in job rotation or multiskilling in

consultation with their supervisor;

This appointment will be offered on an

ongoing, full-time basis.

Location

Kelvin Grove campus.

Selection Criteria

1. Education, training and/or relevant

experience equivalent to the completion of

an associate diploma in business

technology or a related field, in conjunction

with subsequent relevant industry work

experience in an administrative role.

2. Demonstrated ability to deliver high quality

administrative support with excellent

attention to detail, organisational and

problem solving skills, including the ability

to prioritise and complete tasks within

conflicting deadlines.

3. Experience in planning, organising and

delivering events.

4. Evidence of well-developed interpersonal

skills, with a proven ability to effectively

communicate using oral, written and

electronic communication systems.

5. Demonstrated digital literacy with proven

experience in the use of Microsoft Office,

web content management systems, client

databases and/or learning management

systems.

6. Proven ability to work within a team and

independently when required, in a flexible

and agile work environment.

Remuneration and Benefits

The classification for this position is Higher

Education Worker Level 4 (HEW4) which has

an annual remuneration range of $73,283 to

$77,098 pa. Which is inclusive of an annual

salary range of $62,453 to $65,705 pa and

17% superannuation.

In July 2020 QUT staff voted in favour of a

variation to its Enterprise Agreements. The

variations were approved by the Fair Work

Commission in August 2020.

The variation impacts leave loading (for new

staff no loading will be paid or accrued during

the period the variation is in effect), salary

increases (the salary increase which was due

to occur in the first full pay period of December

2020 was deferred until the first full pay period

of December 2021, however it has been

brought forward by the Vice-Chancellor to be

paid in June 2021) and superannuation

(superannuation will be paid to staff as though

the salary increase which would have been

paid in December 2020 has taken effect and,

subject to the rules of the superannuation fund,

a defined benefit member will continue to make

contributions in alignment with the contributions
