Job description

FIXED TERM FOR 12 MONTHS

The University is seeking to appoint a Head of Student Visa Compliance. The post is in Registry and the role holder reports to the Academic Registrar. The role holder will work with staff across the University. The post is full-time, fixed term for one year.

The focus of the post is to ensure the University’s continued compliance with our UK Visa and Immigration (UKVI) Student Route Visa Sponsor Licence. Main duties include reviewing, updating and disseminating our policies and procedures to meet our UKVI obligations; to submit licence renewal applications and to monitor our compliance against UKVI thresholds; to lead UKVI audit visits and to keep abreast of immigration law as it affects the University and its students. The role holder will also work on a range of activities including tasks unrelated to international visa compliance and in consultation with the Academic Registrar.

As our ideal candidate, you will have knowledge and experience of policies and procedures to support student immigration regulation. You will also have proven expertise in compliance or audit work. Your communication and organisational skills will be excellent, and it is essential that you are able to explain processes in a clear and engaging manner. You will also have experience of working with a student records system and an understanding of how such systems can be used to efficiently support compliance.
