International Enrolment Specialist Job in Edmonton, AB at NAIT
The Office of Student Progression & Registrar (SPR) ensures adherence to academic regulations and processes that facilitate the provision of valued credentials. A strategic partner in program and student success, the SPR champions NAIT’s educational model and provides subject matter expertise on admissions, enrolment, and student information system solutions and data.
Reporting to the International Recruitment Coordinator, the International Enrolment Specialist works as an important member of the international recruitment team. Responsibilities of the role include:
Represent NAIT to recruit international students and develop additional in-person brand awareness; actively follow-up on qualifying leads for matriculation and enrolment
Identify opportunities and communicate challenges based on connections made and experiences recruiting overseas
Provide timely admission information to international prospective student audiences ensuring full understanding of NAIT’s admission requirements, application process, deadlines and associated costs
Provide guidance to prospective students on selecting the best fit program
Interpret and analyze data from a variety of sources to make recommendations for the most effective utilization of available resources to support international student enrolments, and the NAIT Student Recruitment Strategy
Support the management of NAIT’s relationship with NAIT Authorized Agents and other third parties, through training on NAIT procedures, policies, admission requirements; as well as serving as a first point of contact to support their activities to ensure performance and achieve international student enrolment targets
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to execute strategic and operational plans to achieve international enrolment targets
Conduct ongoing research, evaluation and assessment of current and emerging international markets
Liaise with the key internal stakeholders (Schools and programs, Marketing and Communications, Admissions, Transition Services, and other areas) and external stakeholders (the public, Authorized Agents, other third parties, school officials, government officials) to ensure the needs of our team are met
Ongoing monitoring, analyzing and reporting on the productivity of NAIT Authorized Agents and third parties for the purpose of performance review
This position is required to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings, travel within Canada and internationally, and lift up to 20 lbs
Other duties as required to support the unit and department
Knowledge and Skills:
Knowledge of general and specific admission requirements for the Alberta system and major international systems are considered an asset.
Fluency in additional language(s) other than English would be an asset.
Experience living and/or working abroad would be an asset.
Proven communication and interpersonal skills (both verbal and written)
Strong intercultural, interpersonal and analytical skills
Ability to apply diplomacy to all interactions, as this position interacts with people of various nationalities and cultural backgrounds
Effective time management skills, a sense of urgency and ability to plan and prioritize daily activities, sometimes with short timelines
Ability to work independently and as an effective team member while managing multiple tasks efficiently and effectively ensuring quality
Critical thinking, problem-solving skills and good judgement
Strong consultative skills and demonstrated ability to adapt to change in a fast-paced environment
Bachelor’s degree required. A combination of education and relevant experience can be considered.
1-3 years related experience working with international students, or in international recruitment and/or enrolment management.
RISIA or ICCRC license would be an asset.
Driver’s License, and a valid passport and immigration status to travel internationally.
Remuneration: $2,297.31 – $3,078.69 bi-weekly plus a comprehensive benefit plan (Classification – Coordinator I). This position is covered by the Alberta Union of Provincial Employees (AUPE) Collective Agreement.
