THE ORGANISATION
Operated by AMANDLA, the Jabulani Development Precinct (“DLab”) consists of several components, and multiple partners, that play a complementary role in creating the platform for multi-sector collaboration, offering sustainable and holistic support for young people, their families and their communities. Precinct Collaboration is driven through a Collective Impact approach.

JOB SCOPE
To develop and implement the AMANDLA psychosocial support programme in support of its objectives and mandate, including but not limited to the following core tasks:

✓ Manage psychosocial service provision in a multi-site environment

✓ Plan and develop training content for psycho-educational training groups

✓ Train and support Precinct Coordinators to implement psycho-educational sessions.

✓ Plan, design, manage and deliver Student Welfare activities for precinct Frontline Youth Staff.

✓ Provide counselling to precinct staff and Frontline Youth Staff.

✓ Provide oversight of the Child Protection system and manage statutory referrals for protection/care.

✓ Identify, establish and manage delivery partnerships.

CORE COMPETENCIES, ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS and PREFERENCES
Educational:

✓ Master’s Degree in Social Work degree in Social Work

✓ Clinical Social Worker training and qualification (preferred)

✓ Registration as a Social Worker with the SACSSP

✓ Experience of working within a youth support environment (required)
✓ Strong Computer Literacy Skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, PPT, SharePoint)

Experience and Skills:

✓ 5-7 years of experience as a Social Worker (required) ✓ Excellent written and spoken communication skills (required)

✓ 2-3 years of general programme management (required) ✓ Basic understanding of Human Resource Management and

✓ Experience in training content development (required) practical implementation of related policy and procedure
✓ Facilitation and training skills (required) (required).

✓ Experience in therapeutic counselling of young people ✓ Ability to coordinate administrative & financial processes

✓ Experience in working in under resourced communities completed both timeously and to the required standard

✓ Code B driver’s license (required) ✓ Fluency in English (required)
