Position Overview:


We are looking for a talented Compliance Manager to join our team. As Compliance Manager, you will work closely with our Chief Legal Officer and President to drive the design and implementation of our company-wide compliance program. This is a rare opportunity to get in on the ground floor of a fast-paced and growing company where your responsibilities and role will grow over time. 


The successful applicant must be proactive, detail-oriented, and an excellent communicator - fully focused on understanding the universe of applicable rules and regulations and operationalizing them into a top-notch and user-friendly compliance program. 


What you’ll do:

  • Help design and operationalize all things compliance at a mission-driven higher education startup. 
  • Lead and manage key compliance projects from initiation to completion, working closely with cross-functional teams.
  • Assist in the creation, review, and streamlining of various policy documents and training modules. 
  • Translate a variety of federal and state mandates and regulations into compliance programs, working with teams across the business to build trainings for different populations and tracking compliance via a compliance dashboard.  

About you:

  • 4+ years experience in a compliance role at a fast-paced startup, in the higher education space, or at an organization with an extensive working relationship with federal or state governments. 
  • Ideally, experience or familiarity with federal and state regulations related to higher education institutions and accreditation standards. 
  • Proactive and self-motivated, with the ability to work autonomously and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Exceptional organizational and project management abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and execute tactically.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and able to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to thrive in a dynamic and rapidly changing startup environment.

Location: New York | Hybrid schedule onsite Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday
