Technology Aspect
To establish a clear duty of care, Stellar Virtual and its affiliates require all employees to cover the costs associated with acquiring and providing the equipment (i.e., computers, internet service, telephone, home office setup, etc.) associated with virtual employment.

Position Overview

As a Secondary Mathematics Teacher, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality instruction, designing interactive curriculum, and providing personalized support to students in grades 6-12 with our Arizona Virtual Tech Academy online program. The primary responsibilities of this role will be to develop and deliver engaging online lessons aligned with Arizona state standards and curriculum guidelines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities


  • Develop and deliver engaging online lessons aligned with Arizona state standards and curriculum guidelines.
  • Utilize a variety of instructional strategies, resources, and technology tools to enhance student learning experiences.
  • Create and maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment conducive to academic growth and collaboration.
  • Assess student progress regularly through formative and summative assessments, providing timely feedback to students and families.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students, including those with varying learning styles and abilities.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and support staff to optimize instructional practices and student outcomes.
  • Foster a culture of inquiry, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills among students, encouraging them to become independent learners.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and stakeholders to provide updates on student progress, academic expectations, and upcoming events.
  • Stay current with emerging trends, research, and best practices in mathematics education, integrating new strategies into instructional practices as appropriate.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities, team meetings, and other school-related activities as required.
  • Collaborate with the Assessment Services team to support in-person seasonal testing procedures with students across various locations in Arizona (required for all teachers). 


Position Knowledge, Skills & Attributes


  • Proficiency in using educational technology tools and learning management systems (e.g., Google Classroom, Zoom, Canvas).
  • Strong knowledge of Arizona state standards and curriculum frameworks for mathematics.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a remote team environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive learning community.
  • Passion for teaching and dedication to student success.


Education & Experience


  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics Education or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Valid teaching certification in Mathematics (Arizona teaching certification preferred).
  • Prior teaching experience in secondary Mathematics, preferably in an online or virtual setting.
